QuesTek Innovations-USA (Division of QuesTek International LLC) is a pioneer in applying Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) technologies and Accelerated Insertion of Materials (AIM) methodologies to the efficient design-development-deployment and commercialization of advanced materials. Since its start-up 20 years ago, QuesTek has successfully addressed industry challenges with its advanced Materials by Design ® products (e.g., Ferrium ® Ultra High-Strength Steels, Alurium ™Al-alloys, Cuprium ™ Be-free copper alloys, QuesTalloy ™ Ti-alloys and Ni-base Superalloys). Furthermore, based on its large number of research projects supported by government agencies (e.g., Dept. of Energy) and industrial sectors (e.g., Automotive), QuesTek has established meaningful CALPHAD and Pre-CALPHAD Materials Informatics packages (with unique sets of vetted data) and amassed vast expertise in ICME technologies and AIM methodologies (with predictive, mechanistic-based models).
Examples of Industry "Contracted Research" projects as well as Industry "Strategic Partnership" collaborations will be presented. Also, QuesTek’s "Business Model" related to Intellectual Properties ownership and licensing rights will be reviewed. Furthermore, advanced alloys design-development-deployment agreements (addressing Industry materials challenges) will be illustrated with US and EU “Strategic Partnership” cases from the Automotive and Energy sectors, along with “Contracted Research” projects for Japanese companies and Additive Manufacturing programs for US entities.
